Last week, our team embarked on an incredible journey to the heart of Lisbon for the third edition of the coolest web3 conference - NEARCON. Surrounded by the vibrant atmosphere, we met up with old friends in the ecosystem, introduced folks to the wonders of the Calimero chat , and indulged in delicious pastelles (they're amazing!). The event was an absolute blast, and our engagement skyrocketed. Inspired by our success, I thought I'd share some laid-back tips on how to conquer NEARCON (or any other conference, for that matter).
1. Prepare, prepare
Before NEARCON kicked off, we huddled together and crafted a game plan. We amped up the excitement by ordering a stash of cool merch and organized schedules for every team member. Our developers dived into hackathons, founders worked the networking scene, and our BD and Marketing teams were gracefully gliding around – doing their thing.
2. Throw in a giveaway
Who doesn't love winning stuff? Giveaways are the secret sauce for adding that extra dash of excitement. This time around, we decided to hand out ledgers and a showstopper – the Calimero x ADIDAS hoodie. Since most of our team has Slavic roots, we figured giving away our official uniform would be a quirky touch. That hoodie become an instant hit
3. Interact, interact
Conferences are the ultimate playground for networking. Take a stroll, meet new faces, and strike up conversations about various projects. One fun way we love to engage with fellow conference-goers is by interviewing them on topics like why they joined Web3 or their favorite projects.
4. Take all you can get
We pitched our founders as if our conference life depended on it. We eagerly said yes to every NFT project looking for collaboration. Hackathons? Count us in! We even joined the competition and came out with a fantastic result – 7 amazing projects submitted! When someone from NEAR extends an invitation, the only acceptable answer is - YES!
5. Explore other projects
Take a stroll around the venue and check out other projects. This not only broadens your knowledge about different ecosystem projects but also sparks inspiration for potential collaborations. Bonus – you might snag a cool T-shirt or an adorable octopus plushy. Who can resist that?
6. Don’t forget to smile
If you've followed all these steps to perfection, your booth is bound to be a buzzing hive of activity. Now comes the fun part – working the booth. Put on your brightest smile, share the story of your project, encourage people to hop on board, and give them a reason to follow you on social media. Keep it light, have fun, crack a few jokes – that's the magic formula for achieving the best results.
